Diplomatic relations between Poland and the United Arab Emirates were established in 1989 and have grown in the last decade to evolve into strategic partnership.

There are more than 20 agreements signed between the two countries in various fields. The history of relations between Poland and the UAE dates back to the year 1988 when Poland expressed desire to tighten bilateral relations with the UAE.

Following the opening of the Polish Trade Office in Dubai in 1988, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abu Dhabi was opened on November 1991.

The UAE opened its Embassy in Poland in May 2009, which constituted a very important step in strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Opening of the Embassy by the UAE reflected in the intensification of cooperation between the countries, mainly in the area of trade and economy.

In recent years, the UAE has become a key partner of Poland in the Arab world in the context of political dialogue and economic cooperation.

Political commitment to cooperation in various areas was confirmed during the exchange of visits on the highest level: the visit of the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, the Ruler of Dubai in Poland in June 2015, the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland in the UAE in December 2013 and the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland in the UAE in April 2012. Relations on parliamentary level were also established.
