The visa is issued for each of Iranians with diplomatic and services passports and all diplomatic Missions staff accredited to Tehran.
Steps to apply for a visa (Iranians with diplomatic passports or service):
- An official note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamic Republic of Iran. The note should include the following details: passport type & number, purpose of the visit, date. Mentioning the profession and the type of visa required (one short trip, one long trip 90 days, 3 months for several travel only for diplomats).
- An official invitation from the competent authorities in the United Arab Emirates (to attend conferences, seminars and ...)
- Fill out and sign the visa application form
- Scan your passport in color (cover and first page of the passport).
- Attach a personal photo that will not support the image taken from the passport and photograph must be colored, clear, with a full front view of your face.
- The application and attachments must be submitted to the Consular Affairs Department during the working hours from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm

Types of visas
The Embassy only issues three types of visas:
- Complimentary Short-term Visa (single entry): Valid for (60) days from the date of issue. Maximum stay is 30 days, non-renewable.
- Visit visa (single entry): Valid for (60) days from the date of issue. Maximum stay is 30 days, non-renewable.
- Multiple – Entry Visa: Multiple for 3 Months. Valid for three months from the date of issue. Maximum stay is (30) days per each entry.
- Transit Visa: Any person for passing through the international transit area of any UAE airports can receive a transit visa by having confirmed ticket.
Regular passport holders should obtain a visa via airlines.
