The United Arab Emirates has expressed its strong condemnation and categorical rejection of an announcement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the planned annexation of land from the occupied West Bank to Israel in the event of an election win.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that this announcement represents a dangerous escalation that violates all international resolutions without the slightest regard for their legitimacy by undermining the noble intentions of those in the international community working towards a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue.

His Highness underscored that this declaration threatens to undermine decades of political efforts by the international community to achieve a fair and just resolution to the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the matter’s centrality to Arabs and Muslims.

His Highness affirmed the UAE’s welcoming and immediate response to calls by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to convene an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to discuss this dangerous escalation and develop an urgent plan of action, adding that addressing this declaration by PM Netanyahu is a shared responsibility that requires the international community to take necessary action against this alarming development.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has welcomed the re-establishment of diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and Eritrea.

In a statement, His Highness said, "The re-establishment of diplomatic ties will have a positive impact on the security and stability of the two countries in particular, and the Horn of Africa in general."

Sheikh Abdullah praised the historic step taken by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki, adding that this move represents great political wisdom and courage of the two leaders.

He went on to say that the UAE looks forward to assisting the two nations achieve peace and security. "The UAE supports sound international relations that seek to promote peace and prosperity, with respect for international law. The UAE will support the two countries based on these foundational principles for the interest of the two countries, their peoples, and the region as a whole," Sheikh Abdullah added.

"The UAE congratulates Ethiopia and Eritrea on this historic agreement, and hopes that this move will open further opportunities and development across economic, cultural and social sectors between the two nations," His Highness concluded.

The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt issued the following statement after their joint meeting in Manama Sunday: -The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt met on July 30th 2017 as part of their continuing consultations on the Qatari crisis and the necessity of Doha stopping its support and funding of terrorism; sheltering and providing safe havens for fugitives and defects convicted of terrorism and its financing in their countries; promoting hatred rhetoric and incitement; and meddling in the internal affairs of the region's countries.

-The ministers praised the efforts made by the King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his warm welcome and hospitality, expressing gratitude at getting informed of his wise vision to ensure common Arab interests and continuation of solidarity between the four countries vis-a-vis all the challenges besetting them.

-The ministers reviewed the latest developments of the Qatari crisis and the communications they conducted over the past period at the regional and international levels, affirming their continued coordination to put an end to terrorism and maintain regional and international peace and security.

-The four nations have underscored the importance of the six guiding principles declared at the Cairo meeting as representing international consensus toward combatting terrorism and extremism, uprooting its funding, and rejecting interference in the internal affairs of other countries, which are all acts that fly in the face of all international laws and conventions, underlining in this regard the importance of enforcing the Riyadh Agreements in 2013 and 2014 which have not been honoured by the State of Qatar.

-The four nations underline the importance of Qatar meeting the 13 anti-terror demands listed by them before in order to achieve security regionally and globally.

-The four nations expressed readiness for dialogue with Qatar with the condition that it declares its sincere willingness to stop funding terrorism and extremism and its commitment to not interfere in other countries' foreign affairs and respond to the 13 demands.

-The four countries stress that all the measures taken against Qatar align with their sovereignty and international law.

- The four states commended the role played by the Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to resolve the Qatari crisis within an Arab framework .

-The four countries denounced Qatar’s measures regarding blocking its nationals from performing Haj this year, lauding the consistent services provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to welcome all pilgrims and streamline their religious rituals.

The four ministers agreed to continue consultations and coordination on the issue during their next meetings.

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks which took place in Iraq and Bangladesh.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed his condemnation of these criminal and terrorist acts. He said such crimes require rallying international efforts to counter violence and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

He also offered his sympathies to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured in the attacks.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has condemned in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist crime that has targeted the al-Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque) in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

He emphasised that the UAE backs and stands in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

"This heinous crime exposes the extent of terrorism and the savagery of those terrorist groups, and no one in their right mind can justify or explain it," H.H. Sheikh Abdullah stated.

Hailing the vigilance and efficiency of the Saudi security services that nipped this heinous crime in the bud before its evil could reach the al-Masjid al-Haram, he highlighted that every Muslim in the world praises what the Kingdom, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is doing to serve Islam and Muslims and spread love and tolerance among all peoples of the world.

"This heinous crime will make us even more formidable and determined to eliminate terrorism and eradicate its sources along with all those who finance, incite, sympathise with, or justify it in any manner whatsoever," Sheikh Abdullah further said.

​The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Mar Girgis Church in Tanta, Egypt, which resulted in the death of dozens of innocent victims.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed the solidarity of the UAE and Egypt, standing by the side of the brotherly nation in confronting this criminal and malicious act.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed his confidence in the solidarity of the Egyptian people and its ability to uphold its national unity and defeat this abhorrent terrorism.

His Highness conveyed the condolences of the UAE to the Egyptian people and wished the victims a speedy recovery.
