UAE President and French President meet to discuss strengthening partnership between the two countries

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. The two leaders reviewed the longstanding strategic partnership between the UAE and France and explored opportunities to expand collaboration across various sectors.

During the meeting, which took place at the Élysée Palace, the French President welcomed the visit of His Highness and expressed his happiness to be meeting again in France. His Highness extended his thanks and appreciation to President Macron for the warm reception.

His Highness and the French President affirmed their ongoing commitment to further strengthening the UAE-France strategic partnership, and discussed ways to boost cooperation in various fields including cultural, environmental, climate change, space science and renewable energy. Their talks also covered other key areas considered important to both countries’ sustainable development ambitions, including investment, the economy, food security, and advanced technology.

The UAE and French Presidents discussed regional and international developments, with both sides stressing the importance of promoting peace, stability and cooperation between nations.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and President Macron also talked about the upcoming COP28 climate conference, to be hosted by the UAE later this year, and reiterated their shared belief in the importance of joint action. They stated that taking measures to confront climate change is a major priority for both countries.
