- Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates were established on 20 October 1992.
- It is noteworthy that the United Arab Emirates is the number one member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which made direct investments in 2006 as for now the UAE has allocated investments amounting to more than $1 Billion in Georgia.
- The two countries have signed a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding and have created a joint council of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs and the first meeting of political consultations was held in April 2019 in Abu Dhabi. There is also a practice of exchanging high-level visits between the two countries.
