What are the types of documents that can be attested through MoFAIC’s e-channels?

  • Individual Affairs Documents: includes but not limited to: educational documents (certificate & transcripts are treated as two different documents) - birth certificates - death certificate - medical reports - good conduct certificate - marriage certificate, court-issued certificates – power of attorney of personal nature - to may it concern letters - employment contract - employment offer - bank statements - personal tax certificate – etc
  • Commercial Documents: includes but not limited to: contract or agreement – commercial registration - appointment of a manager or a director – minutes of meeting of board of directors or partners – company change of name – brand registration - distribution agreement - corporate insurance certificate - corporate tax certificate - board of directors decision - trade license – partnership or shareholder certificate - annexes and appendices in commercial documents – memorandums – company closures – company branch registration – bankruptcy documents – financial statement – product registration – patent registration or waiver – trademark registration – power of attorney of commercial nature – general power of attorney - signature document – end-user certificate – tax certificate - completion certificate - any other document of commercial nature.

Attestation in the UAE

Where are Customer Happiness Centres (Attestation Centres) located within the UAE?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation provides all its services electronically through its website and smartphone application only. 

All customers can now submit all transactions related to MoFAIC’s attestation service through the Ministry’s official website www.mofaic.gov.ae and the UAEMOFAIC smart application, upon fulfilling all terms and conditions.

MoFAIC Customer Happiness Centres are closed, in line with the directives of the UAE visionary leadership towards improving government services and customer experience. 

What are the courier services available inside the UAE?

1) Normal: 3 working days – AED 40
2) Express: 1 working day – AED 150 (excluding Value Added Tax)
3) Prepaid Courier Service:  various packages for companies and entities. Please contact us for more details +97180044444.   

How many documents can I submit in one request? And how long does it take to complete the Official Documents, Certificates and Commercial Invoices attestation service?

There is a limit to the number of documents you can submit in one transaction, based on the courier service pack you select. 

MoFAIC customers in the UAE can chose among the various courier services available:

1) Normal: 3 working days - up to 25 documents per transaction
2) Express: 1 working day - up to 10 documents per transaction
3) Prepaid Courier Service: there is no limit to the number of documents you can have attested. Various packages for companies and entities, please contact us for more details.    

How can I send my documents to MoFAIC after successful payment of attestation fees inside the UAE?

If you selected UAE as a location for attestation, you will be asked to select the type of courier service desired for the service. Once you have successfully paid for the transaction, a courier service representative will contact you to collect your documents. 

There is a limit to the number of documents you can submit in one transaction, based on the courier service pack you select. 

What are the prerequisites of attesting documents?

  • The original documents or digital documents or documents with QR code
  • Ensure that your documents are not laminated. Laminated documents cannot be attested and will be rejected. 
  • Make sure the appropriate governing bodies have attested your documents before attestation of Documents. Missing attestation will be rejected. 
    For documents issued within UAE: 
    o Original documents must be attested by the governing entity except for digital documents issued by a government entity or documents attested electronically. Example: a birth certificate will need to be attested by the Ministry of Health & Prevention or the local health authority. 
    o Documents must be attested by MoFAIC through the Ministry’s official website www.mofaic.gov.ae or the UAEMOFAIC smart application
    o Documents can then be attested by one of our embassies or missions abroad.
    For documents issued outside the UAE:
    o Original document must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of issuing country. 
    o Document can then be attested by one of UAE’s Embassy or Consulate in issuing country by applying though MoFAIC online channels. 
    o Original documents must be attested in the UAE through the Ministry’s official website www.mofaic.gov.ae or the UAEMOFAIC smart application. 

What should I include in the package to be collected by the courier service?

The original documents or digital documents or documents with QR code 

Can I select a different location for collection and delivery?

Pick-up and drop-off location for collection and delivery must be at the same.

How can I track my shipment

Once the courier service picks up your package, you will receive an email notification with a link to track your package.

Attestation in UAE Embassies and Consulates abroad

Can I use a courier service outside the UAE?

At the moment, the courier service provided through MoFAIC’s website: www.mofaic.gov.ae only covers the UAE. However, some missions may accept appointments by phone or may have agreements with service providers in their respective cities/countries. Can I book an appointment to visit a UAE mission?

Where can I attest my documents outside the UAE?

How can I get my payment receipt?

  • Log into the MoFAIC Website: www.mofaic.gov.ae or Smart Mobile App: (UAE MOFAIC) using your username and password.
  • Choose Tasks (My Requests). 
  • You can refer to the table that mentions the Request ID, the Follow-up Number, the e-service name, the creation date and the last action. 
  • Click your request ID number, which starts with (ATS- 202XXXXXX). The page will update automatically.
  • Certificates: you can refer to the table that mentions the country of origin, certificates types and quantity. 
  • In the same schedule, you can find your payment receipt.

How can I request a refund of a transaction?

For refunds of rejected applications, please note refunds will be credited automatically to your account with 14 days. For any other refund requests, please contact our call centre on +97180044444

• Mission's Note is proving that the applicant is working for the Mission. • The Mission must ensure that the staff member does not have a valid residence visa on their passport when applying for the card. • Check the passport expiry date to ensure that it does not exceed six months.

What are the procedures for renewing a passport abroad?

How can I obtain a passport for Emirati babies born abroad?

• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation represented by its missions abroad, issues emergency passports for new-borns to facilitate their entry into the UAE. Therefore, UAE Nationals should visit relevant authorities to obtain official documents for new-borns.

Are there any special privileges in providing the service to people of determination?

• Special parking spaces for people of determination in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai branches. • There is a counter designated for people of determination. • Attestation services at your doorstep (for elderly and people of determination) available at Attestation Centres at Yas Centre (Musaffah area), Dubai & Sharjah branches

How can I renew my passport while abroad?

• To apply for the Passport Renewal for UAE Nationals Abroad service, you should submit proof of an extended stay abroad (i.e. education, medical treatment, or work). Then, apply for the service and learn more about documents required through MOFAIC's Smart Channels.

What are the procedures in case a UAE national loses their passport abroad?

UAE Nationals who have lost their passport must visit the nearest police station to publicise and report the loss of their passport. To apply for an emergency passport. How do I apply to renew my passport?

• Log into one of MOFAIC's smart channels via UAE Pass by entering the username and password. • From the ’Individual Services 'tab, select Issue Passports and Return Documents. Next, select ’Passport Renewal for UAE Nationals Abroad.’ Finally, click ’Start Service 'to complete the service Smart Mobile App: (UAE MOFAIC) form. • When the passport is renewed, you will visit the Embassy and receive the original renewed passport.

• A letter from the requesting entity • Copy of the decree or resolution related to the concerned person in case the entitlement is related to a post • Copy of the ID card • Copy of the ordinary passport. • Copy of the Family book. • Attach a recent coloured personal photo with a white background (4*6) directly facing the camera in either UAE National Dress or a formal suit.

• Please double-click the download link to browse and download files on the device.

Are you unable to complete the online payment process?

• If the error is displayed on the first page of the service, please enter all data correctly. • Moving to the second page of the application, please make sure to click on the ‘Complete Payment’ option, then agree to the terms and conditions. • However, if the error appeared on the card payment data entry page, it is often because the card payment data entered may be wrong, or you have to contact your bank. Because some banks restrict using cards outside the UAE. The error may be due to an administrative or a technical issue, at which point the bank will have the authority to follow up on the issue, inform you of the cause and solve the problem. • Then, you can complete the application form and try to make the payment again.

Can you explain why I’m facing difficulties or issues while completing the Smart Mobile App: (UAE MOFAIC) forms?

Please make sure you: • Fill all mandatory fields • Complete all fields correctly • Stick to a 1 MB attachment size limit

• It is a technical failure: Please send a screenshot of the displayed error message its link and account info (email, username, and contact number) to forward the problem to the competent authority, which will help solve it the issue. In addition, please use the complaints page on smart channels.

What are the procedures to apply for an emergency passport for new-borns?
