- The UAE and Japan have been working hard to build a more robust and diverse relationship for a long time.
- Economic cooperation is expanding into many different fields such as airline, tourism, space, culture, education, medical service, and environment, with significant achievements in all these fields. The UAE is Japan's 2nd largest oil supplier and a significant exporter of natural gas and aluminum.
- The UAE is Japan's safe, stable, and reliable energy and strategic and cooperative partner in various fields. More than 4,000 Japanese nationals live and work in the UAE, the largest number in the Middle East and North Africa.
- In addition, there are more than 400 Japanese companies operating in the UAE. Space cooperation with Japan has seen an increase since the first launch of "Khalifa Sat" from Tanegashima in 2018 and then the launching of UAE’s first interplanetary Probe, “The Hope Probe”, to Mars, July 2020. The Hope Probe reached its Mars Orbit on February 9, 2021.
