About the Ambassador

H.E. Hanan Khalfan Al Aleeli began her career as a local employee at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Cairo during her studies in Egypt, thereafter she was one of the first women who joined to the diplomatic corps. She worked at the UAE Foreign Ministry as a diplomatic attaché in the Department of Finance and Administration in 2000, she transferred to the Office of H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs of UAE in 2005 and she started working in the Department of Asian and African Affairs in 2007. During her career, H.E. Hanan Khalfan Al Aleeli occupied many key positions: • In 2010 she promoted to be a Deputy Director of Asian Affairs, in 2011 she worked as Acting General Consul in Hong Kong, in 2012 she promoted to be a Deputy Director of American and Pacific affairs department, at the ending of 2012 she promoted to be a Deputy Director of the Foreign National affairs department, in 2013 promoted to be Director of Foreign National Affairs department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UAE. • During her career, she participated in many conferences and joint committees both in UAE and abroad and received many certificates and Recommendation Letters. • Since January 2017.H.E. Hanan Khalfan Al Aleeli has been the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Latvia, and she was appointed as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corp in Republic of Latvia since August 2020.
