The Embassy of United Arab Emiratesin Jakarta collaborated with Al-Azhar University Indonesia (UAI) held a Movie Screening Event "History of the Emirates" on Tuesday 10 December2019. The event which was held in commemoration of the 48th National Day of theUnited Arab Emirates. Ambassador of UAE to Indonesia H.E Mohamed Abdull AlGhfeli in his remarks conveyed that the screening of the movie was expected to provide an overview of the history that became the foundation for modernization, development, and progress achieved by the United Arab Emirates. UAE has witnessed the transformation of Bedouin community into a developed society, but still upholds its cultural heritage, tradition, and its Arab and Islamic identity as a whole. Meanwhile, Prof. Asep Saefuddin the Rector of UAI emphasized the good fraternal relations between the Republic of Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates, where both countries have the same attention to the importance of tolerance. Also congratulated the UAE government for choosing 2019 as the Year of Tolerance, while emphasizing the teachings of Islam as a blessing for all nature. At the end of the event a number of students had the opportunity to express their impressions of the Emirates after watching the movie, where they all agreed that they have come to know the historical legacy of development, renaissance, architecture and technology in the United Arab Emirates.
