As part of promoting the United Arab Emirates in the country of residence, Romania, the Embassy of the country in Bucharest held an extensive dialogue session on the Document on HUMAN FRATERNITY FOR WORLD PEACE AND LIVING TOGETHER, as a result of having translated it into Romanian.
This session was attended by H.S. Mr. Cornel Feruta / Secretary of State for Global Affairs and Diplomatic Strategies within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Romania; His Eminence Mufti Iusuf Murat / Head of the Muslim Cult in Romania; H.E. Mgr. Miguel Maury Buendía / Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Apostolic Nuncio in Romania and the Republic of Moldova; and Prof. George Grigore, PhD / Head of the Department of Arabic Language within the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, at the University of Bucharest, a number of ambassadors accredited to Romania, representatives of the religious and academic community, and a group of students from the Department of Arabic Language, who were part of the team that translated the document into Romanian, headed by Prof. George Grigore.
On this occasion, H. E. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah bin Saeed Al Matrooshi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Romania delivered a speech by means of which H.E. emphasized the fact that this document which was signed by His Eminence Sheikh of Al-Azhar / Ahmed Al-Tayeb and His Holiness/ Pope Francis, on February 4th 2019, in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates – when the UAE hosted an unprecedented event: the first papal visit to the Arabian Peninsula, the cradle of the Islamic religion – is the reflection of the intention of the two religious authorities, Islamic and Christian, which by signing the Document on HUMAN FRATERNITY FOR WORLD PEACE AND LIVING TOGETHER, promote peace and create an “instrument of research and reflection”.
In this context, H.E. outlined the fact that this historic moment sent a message of peace and tolerance to believers all over the world, emphasizing, at the same time, that dialogue, respect and mutual understanding between religions and peoples is the path to comprehensive peace, shedding light on the UAE's approach to promoting tolerance and spreading peace across the earth.
At the end of the speech, His Excellency expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the professors and students of the Department of Arabic Language from The University of Bucharest. Furthermore, the UAE Ambassador also thanked the distinguished guests for their participation in this event, to whom H.E. conveyed His wishes for success.
