The Emirati-Tunisian relations are deep-rooted and well established. Tunisia was present in the celebrations of announcing the establishment of the Union on 2nd of December 1971, represented by its Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al Masmoudi. 

The exchange of visits between senior officials in the two brotherly countries represented the most important tributaries of development and cooperation in all fields. The two visits made by the forgiven Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan to Tunisia on August 1974, and then August 1984, constituted a strong impetus for the development of bilateral relations in the fields of investment, trade exchange and technical cooperation.

  • The visit of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him, to Tunisia on August 2007 represented an important station in the bilateral relations. It witnessed lay out of the "Sama Dubai" project milestone, which represents the largest and the most important investment foreigner project in Tunisia.
  • On 20th September 2015, President Beji Caid Essebsi visited the United Arab Emirates to offer his condolences on the death of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
  • On 17th March 2014, Mahdi Jumaa, Prime Minister of the Transitional Government visited the United Arab Emirates, where he was received by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah bless him, and they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation relations in all fields.
  • The exchange of visits between ministers and senior officials was important and included the reception of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs by HE President Qais Saeed, on January 2020. During this visit, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed to HE invitation of the United Arab Emirates leadership to visit the country, which was welcomed by HE, who expressed his hope that this visit contributes to strengthening bilateral relations and developing mutual-cooperation.
  • On 1st of March 2020, President Qais Saeed received Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, on the sidelines of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers meeting held in Tunisia.
