- In April 2018, the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zakharieva, paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
- In October 2018, the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, during which mutual future projects and investments in the field of infrastructure, roads and highways were discussed. The both sides agreed to work together in order to organize a meeting of the joint Governmental Committee for Economic Cooperation, and to prepare a draft for strategically cooperation agreement between Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates, which will create new opportunities for cooperation and relationship development in political, economic, security, cultural and sport aspect.

- In November 2018, Her Excellency the Minister of State for Food Security of the United Arab Emirates Mariam Al Muhairi, paid an official visit to Bulgaria.
