  • On October 21, 2015, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, during which he met with senior officials, led by His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Prime Minister Yahya Ould Hadmine and former Foreign Minister Hamadi Ould Amemo. They discussed ways to develop the relations of brotherhood and cooperation that exist between the two brotherly countries.   • On January 25, 2016, a high-level Mauritanian delegation visited the UAE to represent Mauritania in the activities of the Mauritanian Gulf Business Forum, which was held on January 25, 2016 in Sharjah, UAE.   • In May 2016, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz paid an official visit to the UAE, during which he discussed with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, fraternal relations and regional and international issues of common interest.

  • Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, also came to Nouakchott to participate in the Arab foreign ministers' preparatory meetings for the Arab Summit in July 2016. 
  • In February 2017, the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Iselko Ould Ahmed Izid Bey, participated in the Arab Forum
