  • The governments of Mauritania and the UAE have ratified the establishment of a joint committee for cooperation, after the agreement establishing the committee was signed in January 2012 in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Hamadi Ould Hamadi, then Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

  • The value of Mauritanian exports to the UAE in 2016 amounted to 9 million dollars, according to the National Bureau of Statistics in Mauritania. The value of UAE imports to Mauritania in 2015 amounted to about 419 million dollars (including oil and non-oil imports), while it declined in 2016 to 249 million dollars, and this can be explained by a noticeable decline in the total Mauritanian imports during the same year, in addition to the entry of other parties.
