The Embassy of the United the Arab Emirates in Kigali issues visas to holders of diplomatic passports, special passports and service passports on the basis of a verbal note from the diplomatic mission.
For holders of regular passports (normal passports for all nationalities), you may apply for a visa via also apply via travel agencies in Rwanda or in the United Arab Emirates or via friends or family living in the United Arab Emirates.
Your employer in the United Arab Emirates is responsible for making all the necessary arrangements regarding your work visa.
This depends on your nationality and type of passport.
Please contact the consular department for further information. Rwandan Citizens traveling with a Diplomatic Passport, a Special Passport or a Service Passport have visa free entry to the United Arab Emirates.
You will need to prepare the following documents and contact the consular department of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kigali:
• Copy of your old passport
• New passport – must not be a temporary passport
• A police report from the Police of the Republic of Rwanda, that has been translated into Arabic by a sworn translator and legalised by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kigali
• Letter from your sponsor
• Copy of your residence permit
• Passport size photo (1 piece)
The fees for super legalizing regular certificates (certificates of a non-commercial nature) such as educational certificates, diplomas, birth certificates and marriage certificates are 152 Dirhams for each legalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda.
The fees for super legalizing commercial documents are 2,028 Dirhams for each legalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda.
The fees for super legalizing invoices depends on the total value of the invoice.
After submitting the original of the document that has been legalized by the Rwandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the consular department, you will be emailed information on how to make the payment online using a payment card via the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
The office hours of the Embassy from Monday to Friday are 9am to 4pm (CAT).
