The UAE is becoming a leader in space research and exploration. Since its establishment in 2014, the UAE Space Agency has worked with Australian and international partners to build a dynamic and ambitious space program. In the coming years and decades ahead, the UAE aims to visit the moon, mars, and the asteroid belt.
In 2023, Emirati Astronaut, HE Dr Sultan Al Neyadi, became the first Arab to conduct a spacewalk. Dr Al Neyadi has a special connection to Australia, graduating from Griffith University.
Our existing cooperation is underpinned by an MoU signed in 2019. Going forward we will be working together to explore the universe.
